Mamavation Monday

I don't have a lot of time today because of all I have to do this week so just a quick recap.

I got a new treadmill and I was finally able to try it out. You also may have noticed I got a new iPhone and I found an awesome app that lets me post my stats from my workout. Unfortunately the only space I have for the treadmill is in a room with no a/c and in TX we've been going into the triple digits. I still did a 30 minute workout but I made myself really sick from the heat and as soon as the workout was over and the treadmill stopped the room started spinning and I almost passed out. So I wanted to take a minute and stress the importance of proper hydration. We are here to get healthy and passing out from heat exhaustion after a workout is not healthy ladies. Please make sure you are drinking your water. And if you are feeling physically ill during a workout take a moment and rest. There is such a thing as overdoing it.

I was also excited to find out that my last post helped a fellow Sista. You all remember my awesome weight loss last week well, Mamavation graduate @Rachel_L mentioned me in her vlog this week. Check it out HERE, I feel so special *tear* lol. It is just so easy to get caught up in your every day life and not even realize that you have been slipping back into old bad habits and i'm glad my post helped her take a step back and reevaluate what she was eating and her water intake and she had a 3 lb loss this week. Congrats Girl!

Congrats also goes to Julie @jamnsfld76 for being Sista of the week! Thanks goes out to this week's sponsor Lori @gutimom. She is an Avon representative and is giving away a lot of swag this week to a lucky Mamavation Sista. Lori YOU ROCK!

My scale has unfortunately not moved again which means I need to stay on track and keep watching what I eat carefully. It does get hard when you are running around trying to do everything like enroll the kids in school, take your own classes, and then all this stuff with my husband.

Oh yeah, another update. My husband is still on medical hold in NC. The endochrinologist finally saw him on Friday and he does have hyperthyroidism and is now on medication to try and slow down his thyroid. Unfortunately this does mean he has to remain in NC until OCT 6th which is his next appointment. Then we will find out if the new meds are working or if not he will need to have surgery to have his thyroid removed.

My biggest goal this week is to get three or more treamill workouts in. Good luck with your goals ladies.

The Best Mamavation Monday EVER!

If you have been following me on my weight loss journey you know that I began at 230.5 lbs. My lowest Mamavation weight has been 220.8 but for about two months now I have been stuck between 221 and 222. Here is my scale pic I took last Saturday:

The last few weeks my activity level has gone up like crazy but still no weight loss. Well last week I figured out that my portion size had gotten much larger and I hadn't even noticed. I decided to make a goal that focused on decreasing my serving size. Well I am not sure how I did it, but when I stepped on the scale this week I was convinced I had a magical scale. Was I still sleepy and dreaming it? I saved it and went about my morning came back and the magical scale still had the magical number saved on it. I wasn't dreaming. This is what it looked like:

Do you see a scale that says 215.6 too? You do? You're not dreaming? This is real? I thought so. Do you realize I lost 5.2 lbs this week? AHHHHHH!!! I know right! lol That's a grand total of 14.9 lbs since starting Mamavation! See ladies dreams can come true! And slowly but surely I am getting there. Some times we do have a bad day or a bad week but it is important to keep pushing yourself. You'll get there. We will do it together!

By the way I am a finalist for the @smoothfitness treadmill @villarrealfam. If you want to vote for me you can but since I only have zero percent of the votes I came to the realization I had to go ahead and purchase my own treadmill. Which I did, I just have to put it together and it probably won't be today since I have a three hour midterm to take. So vote for @gutimom if you can. She's a great sista and she really does deserve it. Congrats to my girl @RachelSteffen for being Sista of the week! You are always rocking it girl!

I also want to give a big shout out to our Sponsor this week @Gruvesolution. The Gruve is so awesome and i've wanted one badly for a while now. If you haven't heard about it, it monitors how many calories you are burning and actually starts vibrating if you have been inactive too long. It will help me keep my ass in gear! lol If you want to know more about it or find out where and how to get one yourself visit the Muve Inc site!

Good luck with your goals ladies!

Mamavation Monday

Crazy hectic week.

First I missed last weeks Mamavation show because I was out and about running errands and then my dad ended up going shopping with me and my sisters. Which has not happened in years especially since i've been in NC. I had fun. I've feel like i've been running around like a chicken with my head chopped off getting the kids registered for school, getting their supplies, and planning these parties.

I noticed that I have been a lot more active but I am the same size. I did notice that my portion size seems to have gotten bigger.

On top of everything I almost missed this week's Mamavation Monday because my internet has been in and out all week with a very bad connection and it finally went out completly on Thursday. Which sucks because I have online classes. They sent someone out on the weekend to fix it though and here I am! YAY!

So if you didn't hear Rachel Steffen won my sweaty pic contest for looking especially hot in the picture below:

You go girl! She totally rocked it! Looking forward to doing a Marcal Small Steps review/giveaway on Bookieboo.com So keep a look out for that. For now my goal is to keep it moving and get more steps in as well as decreasing my serving sizes. I really should invest in a kitchen scale...

Good luck with your goals this week ladies!

Mamavation Monday

I know this is late but I wanted to make sure was updated on my status. I still have not bought any sodas and it is effecting my family. My sister is used to running in and out and grabbing a Big Red and now when she runs in she goes for a Big Red and has to grab a bottled water HA!

I have stayed in the same 222-223 range. Right now I feel like i'm stuck there. But it is baby steps right? And I quit soda and have managed to get the kids and my little sister eating more fruits so i'm proud of the progress.

I still need to get my steps up so my goal for the week is 10,000 steps.

I also wanted to remind everyone that I am doing a sweaty picture contest that ends on the 10th at the end of this week. The winner will recieve a brand new Hydracoach unless you want a used one, I guess I could send you my old one and get myself a new one. lol j/k We have two great entries so far but I want far more! So get moving and get those sweaty pics in! CLICK HERE FOR ENTRY DETAILS!

Sweaty Picture Contest/HydraCoach Giveaway

Could it be? Am I doing another HydraCoach giveaway? Some of you may remember I did a HydraCoach giveaway to help get votes for Kim a.k.a. @Mentallyinked to be the next Mamavation mom, do you think it helped? This time lets make it a contest that gets you ladies moving!

I want you to get moving, running, walking, dancing, exercising, get your blood pumping and your body sweating. Then take a picture of yourself drenched in sweat to show me how committed you are to losing that weight. Send the picture to me and I will pick my favorite one!

That's right, I am the judge. And I like people who are creative. For example, if you can get all the family moving and send me a sweaty family pic, you will score some major brownie points with me.

You must be in the picture so don't try sending me a cute sweaty kid picture because then i'll just be like "Awwwww, NEXT!" lol. I understand you will be getting down and dirty and I might see pit stains etc. but keep it nice, as in nothing vulgar and no nudity; which should go without saying.

HOW TO ENTER: Send me, @Villarrealfam, your best sweaty picture via Twitter then come back here and leave a comment with your Twitter name and the link to your tweet. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON! So make it count ladies! Entries will be taken from June 29th 2010 to July 10th, 2010 and the winner will be announced on Sunday July 11th, 2010.

PRIZE: The winner will win one brand new HydraCoach as seen here.
Check out the features ladies by visiting their site. This product really helped me stay on track with my daily water intake and i'm sure you will love it as much as I have.

*Contest is only open to members of the Mamavation Sistahood*
*US Residents Only*

Good luck!

Mamavation Monday

Well you all know that i've been trying to get back on track with everything that is going on. I have some big news. My hubby has gone from 200 lbs to 160 lbs in less than a month because of his hyperthyroidism. I am so worried and to be honest a little bit jealous because that is currently my goal weight. Obviously I am more worried because of how incredibly unhealthy that is. He is still shaking a lot, sweating a lot, and always exhausted. His endocronology appointment is not until the 9th but I will keep you updated with his condition.

I have officially quit soda again! Seriously! I resisted buying more when I went to the store. I have also been drinking my water again! Yay me! As I said last week, I have stayed between 221.8 and 222.8 and this week really wasn't much different as you can see from my scale pic.

I have also successfully switched out all of the family's snacks this week to fruits and nuts. Which I feel is a big success because my sister is stayng with us and I want to help her get to a healthy weight but i'm not sure how to go about it. She is 13 and she is only going to stay with me for a couple of weeks and i'm hoping that will be enough to at least get her eating right and perhaps more active.

I was concerned when I asked her if she had already had a diabetes test and she told me she had but it was just a blood test; which has lead me to believe that she has not. I decided to weigh her on my scale and after much whining she finally did stand on it in front of me. 300 lbs. I am not sure what to do now because she has the normal teen attitude like "ugh leave me alone" and i'm worried and want to help her without bothering her. Any suggestions?

GOALS:
Quit Soda *Completed*
Increase water Intake *Completed*

New Goals:
I still need to get back up to 10,000 steps a day.

Application week: I was going to apply this week but I got sick and lost my voice. I am getting it back but I still sound hoarse or in my sister's words "horrible". Hopefully, I will have it back soon. Good luck to all of the ladies that have been able to apply! If you need my support, just ask!

A big shout out to the sponsor's of this weeks blogging carnival, @LingerieDOTcom! Did you notice they have some french maid costumes on their site? If that is not motivation to get fit, I don't know what is! Go take a look for yourself at Lingiere.com!

I also wanted to thank all the wonderful Mamavation ladies that gave me very supportive comments last week. I love you all! Thank you so much for being there!

Good luck with your goals everyone!

Flashback Friday

I'm the one in the middle on my dad's lap. That big dot on my sister's nose is just a smudge or something on the picture. lol Yes, i've always had those big eyes.
